As Christians we believe in the redeeming power of love. A power that is always available to us. Whenever and wherever. To everybody.
Christian prayers are one way to access that love. It is available to us at any time in our lives. No matter how dark our path has been. No matter how far we have strayed.
We are encouraged to be like the children. In our faith. In our trust. In our joy about this creation all around us.
Mother Mary in her dark blue velvet coat can bring us peace and comfort. When we feel her dark blue coat wrapped all around us, it can take away any sorrow. Any fear and any doubts. And leave us with simple motherly loving. What grace.
We believe in the resurrection of the body. With a variety of details depending on our particular Christian faith.
At our dying some of us require the Holy communion or the Sacrament of the Sick. Some of us like words of the Bible read to us. Some of us like to feel guided by our most familiar Christian prayers.

The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You welcome me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.Amen

Benedict, when the storm rages around me, and I can hold on no more, when the waves of fear engulf me and I am weary, battered and sore, take me then and steer me, storm-tossed, broken and afraid, into the arms of your safe harbor safely home. Amen

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.
