A Good Dying on Facebook

If you want to connect with other visitors to A Good Dying, consider becoming a fan on Facebook.

hyacynth, friend, comfort, Being present with the death of our loved ones can easily feel overwhelming. So much responsibility. Such a new territory. So much to learn.

While we go back and forth between taking care of their needs and sitting by their side. Maybe just holding a hand. Maybe singing to them.

On the other side, exploring our own dying can be a scary experience. We are just not used to thinking about our own death excepts as something awful. Terrifying.

We are not used to talking about it either. Talking about it to get used to it (after all every person alive right now is going to die eventually.) Talking about it to share the fear. To share possibilities. To explore possibilities.

In either case, connecting with others in similar situations can feel very comforting. That is why I created an A Good Dying Facebook Page.

If you "Like" that page, you can

  • post your thoughts and feelings about death and dying;

  • you can add your opinions on the Discussion Page,

  • you can start your own discussion on the Discussion Page;

  • you can ask for help on issues relating to death and dying.

  • I will also post new pages on my website, updates and workshops directly to Facebook.

    I Sing For You

    I sing for you
    with silent lips

    I pray with you
    my arms wide open

    Your wandering mind
    a brilliant map

    Your reaching hands
    a perfect dance

    Your empty eyes
    so full of light

    Your ragged breath
    a morning breeze

    Yes I am here
    and you are going home
